Roads & Kingdoms is part independent media company, part travel curator. Through editorial features, award-winning video series, and small-group trips led alongside local fixers, their work offers an immersive look into humanity and culture through food and travel.

I've been a fan of R&K since I first saw their work with their late creative partner (and personal idol of mine) Anthony Bourdain. I've also joined two trips (Morocco and Asturias), each offering a deeply intimate travel experience I can only describe as living journalism. It's also the kind of travel I feel good about: a portion of their net proceeds support World Central Kitchen through their collaboration with Chef José Andrés.

To help with the launch of their first ever print magazine, I worked with the Roads & Kingdoms team across editorial and branded content, which included proofreading the full magazine, and developing an original advertorial that aligned with their brand voice and editorial standards.

For the advertorial, I developed questions and conducted an interview with Sean Donnelly, founder of Mighty Oak Roasters in Astoria, Queens, focusing on his approach to sustainable sourcing. I then worked closely with Executive Editor Charly Wilder to shape the interview into a finished article that fit the Roads & Kingdoms tone and storytelling style.
